What Can You Do About That Summer Body?

Help! Summer is coming up soon, and you haven’t been paying attention to that summer bod and didn’t notice it until the last minute! What can you do to feel more confident at the beach in front of others? I hope I have a few answers for you.

  • First and foremost, I find that having a daily ab routine can work wonders on sucking in that tummy. That’s one of the first things people look at when they see someone at the beach. Even if it’s not feasible for you to lose weight to the point of getting that perfect summer body, having a tight core can make you feel so much more confident out on the beach, and it helps you actively suck in that gut to look less like your winter holiday hibernating self.
  • On top of adding in daily abs, you need to start having a diet where you are more accountable for what you’re taking in. There are certain foods that can make you feel bloated and you should stay away from these, especially when you know you’ll be going to the beach soon. Food high in salt is notorious for keeping in water weight and making you bloated, which not only increases your gut volume, it also makes it hard for your core to suck in your gut. High salt foods are often processed, meaning they come in a can like canned veggies, they can be fast food, chips, unnecessary snacks like pretzels, among other things. Eat meals high in veggies so you get that fiber to push out whatever is in your gut and decrease the volume before a day at the beach.
  • Start a workout routine. Even though it may seem pointless since you won’t see the progress you would like before the summer is over, working out shouldn’t just be for aesthetics. Along with that Fuego lifestyle idea, maintaining a healthy diet and exercise is a lifestyle choice. You can’t just pick it up just to look good. That won’t give you enough motivation to put in that work day in and day out. You have to have that intrinsic drive to keep that fire burning year-round, and then your summer body will be like a reward for all your hard work. It shouldn’t be the sole reason for you hard work.
  • I know it sounds weird, but try to get a tan and sun exposure other than when you go to the beach. Laying down in the yard, doing some yard work, going for a run with a Fuego tank or shirtless if you’re bold, or even just going for a walk around the neighborhood can help with a tan. The darker your skin is, the easier it is to see muscle definition. Now, this doesn’t mean go to tanning salons until you look like Spongebob in the sun bleach episode, and this doesn’t mean going and getting a fake tan that’s super obvious and full of regret. This just means try to get a little darker naturally, and it should help slim you down.

I hope some of these tips can help you out! The thing about a summer body is that if you don’t have the drive to put in the work year-round, you won’t get the results you’re looking for, or you’ll eventually get some results, but you’ll just lose them when you stop putting in the work. None of this comes easy. If any of you follow Nava on his recent diet and cutting plan, you can see that it sucks. But, it’s worth it in the end.
